What We Do:
We are twin sisters, Emme and Ava, and every year on our birthday since 2011 we hold a stuffed-animal toy drive, collecting as many new cuddle-sized plush toys as we can to donate to children who are experiencing stressful or scary life circumstances.
Our Goals:
To provide new, plush, cuddle-size stuffed toys (an “Emergency Cuddle”) to children in stressful or scary life situations.
Our Inspiration:
2 Corinthians 1:4 tells us, “God comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort others.”
What We’ve Done in the Past:
Since founding Emergency Cuddles for Kids in 2011, we have been blessed to donate 100s of new cuddle-sized plush animals/toys to many local, national, and international organizations that minister to children in need of comfort. Some of these include: ambulance services, homeless shelters and temporary family shelters, a children’s home, and Operation Christmas Child. What a joy!
In 2020, due to COVID-19, we held a virtual food drive instead of a stuffed animal drive, to help provide comfort children and families in our community who were dealing with the stress of food insecurity. We raised $1,588, which provides more than 6,000 meals through Second Harvest Food Bank.
